What is an Arcadia Solar Basking Spotlight

The Arcadia Basking Solar Spot Lamp gives your reptile a healthy dose of essential supplementary UVA light and infra-red warmth, to aid well-being and colour while helping them thermo-regulate for better health and happiness. Although it looks and works similar to a normal light bulb, this reptile bulb has an intense heat provision that creates a tight focused beam and ambient heat, which cold-blooded reptiles need to enable circulation and other biological processes. This bulb can be set close or far away from your terrarium to suit both desert basking species and tropical basking species in snake setups and lizard setups.

What’s the difference between the products in this range?

The Arcadia Solar Basking Spotlight comes in 4 sizes, 50w, 75w, 100w and 150W, these Arcadia Basking Solar Lamps create an intense spot of high UVA and Infrared rays in an inviting warm colour to light up and heat your reptile when they need to increase their body temperature. Higher Wattage bulbs will give off more heat and create a larger solar basking spot, so you may find that the larger your pet, the larger the bulb you’ll require. It’s also important to note that you will need more powerful heat lamps for taller enclosures than short ones to allow for intense heat to reach the bottom of your enclosure.

What fitting does this bulb have?

Made with a simple E27 screw fitting, the Arcadia Solar Basking Spotlight is easy to install and your reptile can benefit immediately from one placed within their habitat in conjunction with a UVB bulb for strong bone growth. Both the bulbs in this basking solar spotlight range and an Arcadia Reptile UVB System should be connected to a thermostatic controller to prevent any accidents with the intense beam and aid wellbeing.
