Small Animals
Caring for your pet
Small animals have long made great pets, particularly for young families with children looking to
experience the joys and responsibilities of pet ownership for the first time. We have a great
selection of small animals for you to choose from, including rabbits, guinea pigs, Syrian and Russian
hamsters, gerbils, mice and rats, all of which make fantastic additions to the household.
When you purchase a small animal from Didcot Pet Store you can rest assured that you are buying a
happy and healthy animal, who has had the very best start to life. We have been awarded a five star
rating by DEFRA, which means our animal welfare and care meet the highest possible standards.
All our animals are also handled regularly and are well socialised with humans, which should help to make the transition to their new home a smooth one.
At Didcot Pet Store you will also find everything you need to care for your small furry pet at home.
We have a great selection of cages and hutches, feed, bedding materials, treats and other
accessories such as hamster balls.

Looking for help and advice?
We love our small furry animals and are always happy to help if you’re looking for help and advice before buying a pet, or once you’ve got one settled at home. With so many smaller pets to choose from, it can be difficult to know which species might suit you best. Luckily we’ve become something of experts on the differences between them and can help to advise you as to what might suit your family best. You never know – you may come in for a guinea pig and leave with mice! Some types of animals also prefer to live in pairs; these are all the types of things we can discuss with you to help inform your decision and make sure you leave with the right pet for you.
We can also help you to make sure you have everything you need to get your pet settled and ensure they are well cared for at home. If you’ve never owned a small animal before it can be difficult to know where to start with the right cage sizes and the best diet for your pet, but these are all things we can help you with.
